Raising My Three And Me

The unfiltered thoughts and happenings of a married SAHM

Behind The Blog Challenge

I was tagged to share 4 facts about myself that my audience (probably) doesn’t know about me.

When it comes to my blogging journey, I have been learning as I go for the past seven years. That may seem crazy when you are just now joining my launch of this blog. It can be unsettling to hear that as a blogger, nothing about you is relevant: you are pressured to get readers and it quickly becomes a journey of obsessively checking your statistics. I’m sure a lot of others feel like I do when my statistics are low.

Blogging is a step in the direction of my dream career of being a writer while making a reliable income to help my family and teach my daughters that they can be whatever they want in this life.

That’s why I love connecting with like-minded people in the blogging community. Those who are welcoming, supporting, and kind – no matter where they are in the engagement or DA levels. I love getting to know who I’m reading posts by – it will make me subscribe a lot faster than articles that do not speak to me.

I love seeing other bloggers care to connect with their readers as I do. I love seeing the passion they have when sharing their tips, experiences, and life with the scary realm of the internet. That’s why I enjoy participating in tags and challenges like this one.

Raising My Three and Me presents… my answers to the “behind the blog challenge” that I was tagged in!

Before I get started on the post, I just wanted to give a warm welcome to any new readers and acknowledge my supporters! Thank you for taking time out of your busy lives to read my blog post. If this is your first time here, I write about parenting, personal growth, and productivity! If this sounds interesting, or you like my blog, you should subscribe, follow, or bookmark this page for later! If you’ve been here before, thank you for returning!

Okay, time to go back to the content!

So, what is the purpose of the Behind The Blog challenge? This challenge was created by Olivia Lucie Blake who wanted her audience to get to know her better and inspire other bloggers to do the same. The purpose of it is to share four facts about yourself that your audience doesn’t know about you and to tag four other bloggers to do the same.

What a great idea, Olivia! Thank you so much for creating this as a way to encourage bloggers to connect with their readers.

I was tagged by the lovely Jeanette over on It’s a Jeanette Thing! Thank you so much for thinking of and nominating me! I certainly loved to learn more about you and that I get to do the same. Please go and check out her blog post!

Without further ado – here are my four facts that my audience (probably) doesn’t know about me!

I love to research and learn new things:

I love to consume knowledge and to learn new things. I did well in school and secretly enjoy learning some little nerdy facts. It can be a bit distracting when I have a lot of thoughts and ideas that I’m curious about come to my mind – but I absolutely love learning.

Learning never stopped for me when I graduated from school. I still love to research things, as long as I’m passionate about the topic.

Passion and happiness are non-negotiables for me:

When you grow up, you are handed this script and that means you go to school, get a high-paying job, and that’s that. You stop being excited about the holidays, your birthday is no longer acknowledged, and get up to “make that money” and “deal with it” if you’re unhappy. I don’t want to live like this.

I used to drive myself crazy wondering how to check all of the boxes. I was not happy and it started to bother me a lot. It took me a long time to realize that if I’m not happy or passionate about something, then I’m not doing it.

Obviously, I still need to do some responsibilities, but I don’t want to do something with my long-term life that I’m not happy with. I chose to become a mother to three kids, I did not choose to sign away my life to never make enough money for what society tells me that I need and want.

I crave freedom more than anything. If I need money, I want to do it my way. I want to make money as my own boss. I want to feel safe where I live. I don’t want to be stuck to one thing for the rest of my life. I want to experience life, not wait for someone else to tell me that it’s okay to do this. This may seem unrealistic, but I’m going to make it my own reality.

I want to breathe. I want to bond with my kids. I want my husband to be home with me and we tackle life together. I want to live where I want. I want to do what I want. I want to thrive, not just survive – and nothing in my current life makes me feel like this.

If you’re liking my blog, then why not subscribe by entering your email address in the box? It’s free and really helps me with statistics. You will only receive an email when I upload something new. I never sell or distribute your information.

I truly believe I have special abilities:

Whether you believe in this sort of thing or not, I can’t help but share that I have been able to see things before they happened numerous times. I have a strong intuition with guessing things like what song is going to come on next, pregnancies of people I know, events that are about to happen – and have a strong sense of knowing a person’s intentions.

I think we all have a little bit of this inside of us.

I can also lucid dream, sense death coming, and it’s honestly exhausting. Part of me feels like this is a blessing, but it feels much more like a curse when I see nightmares or feel bad about something. Don’t even get me started on seeing number sequences and what those have turned out to be for me.

No big deal if this is not your sort of thing, it’s just something that I felt inclined to share.

I still use a security blanket:

This is a little embarrassing and I feel almost too scared to share it. But, I never outgrew my need to have a special blanket to sleep with. This blanket has changed over the years.

I still find comfort in my soft blankets that I snuggle up with at night. If I end up going somewhere without it, I struggle with sleeping. I’m not sure if this is weird, probably a bit as an adult, but it brings me peace and comfort so I guess I don’t care? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Conclusion:

So, there you are! Four facts about me that my audience doesn’t know. It was definitely scary to share these facts because I’m typically an open book, but these things were really hard to share.

Thanks again to Jeanette for tagging me to do this challenge!

  1. It was super cool (and great!) to know more about you. We’re very much alike. I find it awesome you gathered the courage to talk about special abilities. They do exist, it’s part of human nature, and it’s ok to have different experiences. I’d love to know more about that from you! Thank you for tagging and inviting me on this challenge.
