A human has over 6,000 thoughts a day and I’m no stranger to a racing mind.
I thought it would be interesting to write this week’s blog post to share ten ideas that I have had lately that would change my life. But before I get into it, I wanted to say that my blog posts might be dropped to one a week. I have been struggling with writing and think it’s best to commit to one blog post per week until I get in a better mental space.
Without further ado, here are ten ideas that I have had lately that will change my life. This could be big or small changes, they’re just ideas!
Become a certified life coach:
Back in 2019, I had the idea that I wanted to become a certified life coach and that didn’t really happen because life got in the way, as life always does. However, upon a major breakdown session with my husband, I decided to get out there and get these courses done. I set a weekly schedule where I chip away at eight courses (two a day for four days) and become certified.
I have so many things to learn but I’m beyond excited again.
Get my shit together:
Like a lot of people, I have to get my shit together. I have been slacking in all areas of my life lately and would definitely need to create a list in order to see what shit I need to work on.
We can always improve and get our lives together and I’m no exception to this! I even considered using this blog as a space to document this journey.
I haven’t been taking good care of myself and can definitely feel the aftermath. Honestly, I’m ready to stop feeling sorry for myself and change my life. I want to figure out what I want out of life and pursue it.
Start using videos in my blog:
I’ll be honest, I originally thought about using this thought as starting a YouTUbe channel or podcast to visually or auditorily enhance my blog, but I realized that I can upload videos directly to my blog.
Hmm, this is interesting because this might really help my ideas for using my blog as a space where I can get shit done in my life. I love watching videos on YouTube where they work through their to-do lists, clean, run errands, cook – and so much more, but I really didn’t like the idea of having to manage yet another platform.
Now that I know I can upload videos, I will truly consider using videos in my posts!
Make an appointment to improve my mental health:
After a major slump recently, I promised that I would make an appointment with my doctor to talk about my mental health. I will most likely need to consider swapping medications, finding a counselor, or being referred to a psychologist.
I advocate for ending the stigma around mental health. Although I also know that there are people who are taking advantage of others because of their mental illness. It’s why I want to be transparent on my blog with my downward emotions as well as excitement.
There’s nothing wrong with needing help.
Please see this as your sign to make an appointment with a professional to help you. I know that it’s scary, I’m terrified and really don’t want to. However, if me finding interest in life coaching is not enough to bring me out of this fog, I will be making the needed phone calls.
Write a memoir:
I had this thought a lot in previous years and after reading The Fool and The Magician by Angela Lam (blog post coming soon) that idea came flooding back into my brain.
I went through a lot in my life and I would love to write about it. Now, whether that’s through a traditional memoir, or through a series of blog posts, I want to heal and I thrive using writing as that coping mechanism.
Change my first and last name:
I have been holding onto my maiden name since I got married back in 2017. Between fear of change and complete laziness, I just haven’t gotten around to changing it to match my husband and our kids.
Not only is this on my mind, but I have also had the idea that I want to change my first name, too. I don’t hate my first name (Christina) and almost feel guilty for wanting to leave it behind me, but I desperately want and need a fresh start
I have no ideas on what I would change it to, but it has been on my mind a lot recently. All I know is that my name has a heavy religious background and I’m not Christian. I don’t believe in God. Still, I feel guilty and afraid of changing my name.
Building a tiny home:
I have been so fascinated with off-grid living, tiny living, and finding a different way to experience life without giving up a lot.
I have truly loved the idea of buying two-three nice-sized sheds, connecting them with a porch, and making it into a nice living space for my family. I’m fascinated with construction and the process of building. Maybe I could love it so much that I could get into flipping sheds to sell!
That’s quite a stretch; still, I just want a better way of living than this.
Starting a book series:
I just had this idea return to me as well but I have an idea to be writing a book series that are broken up into mini stories of creatures. I don’t think I want to write this as a “mystery” where the reader doesn’t know the creature, but I have no idea. This is a great idea because I’m a huge fan of ghosts, wendigos, witches, and so much more!
We will see.
Pierce my nose and/or get a tattoo:
Probably the craziest idea I have been having lately as I’m afraid of needles, but I have been thinking about getting my nose pierced and/or a tattoo. I would like a tattoo of a crescent moon with flowers on it and have my kids names dangling from vines. It would be my first tattoo and I would like it on my thigh.
As for the nose piercing, they do have fake ones that I might try first. I don’t know, we’ll see!
Start doing challenges again:
A year or two ago, I started a blog where I would try new weekly challenges biweekly and write about the experience. I really enjoyed doing that and it’s definitely been on my mind.
I would either do weekly, monthly, or 24 hours on a wide variety of things.
